Fixed errors
Seems like the problems I had with the site are now (more or less) solved. I also think the reason for the problems were the use of too much disk space, even though my host assures me she has enough room. Weird. *shurgs*
The solving of the problem was thanks to another problem arising.
I tried upgrading my version of WordPress to the lastest version (2.8), but only got a bunch of errors back:
Warning: touch() [function.touch]: Unable to create file /home/.pish/gawariel/gawariel.com/wp-content/1244911885 because Disk quota exceeded in /home/.pish/gawariel/gawariel.com/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 174
Warning: fileowner() [function.fileowner]: stat failed for /home/.pish/gawariel/gawariel.com/wp-content/1244911885 in /home/.pish/gawariel/gawariel.com/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 628
Warning: unlink(/home/.pish/gawariel/gawariel.com/wp-content/1244911885) [function.unlink]: No such file or directory in /home/.pish/gawariel/gawariel.com/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 630
As I particularly noticed the bold part, I thought I could try delete one of my zip-files through FTP and try the upgrade again. And lo and behold, it worked! On top of that, the custom permalinks were fixed at the same time.
After that I tried uploading files again, but whenever I reach an upload of 30Mb it just stops, which strengthens my believe I have exceeded some unknown size-limit set on my folders.
My host is informed, so hopefully she’ll know an answer
If not, then I’m thinking of using an external file storage site (Mediafire) to host the bigger files. We’ll wait and see
Goodnight!

I’ve never used WP before so I have no idea what you’re going through feels like, but a couple weeks ago I had a similar problem. Mine was because I had used up all my space from my host.
I’m starting to feel a slight pressure that all (good/serious) web designers should use WordPress, but I find no appeal in it. What’s the biggest perk of WP in your opinion?

My problems are now completely fixed!
If you don’t want to convert to WP, then you certainly do not have to feel obligated to do so. If your site works fine for you as it is and you have no issues, then why change?
I for one am really happy I did the conversion, as I felt that updating was a real drag and I really wanted a blog where people could leave a response (CuteNews stopped working for me). The way I used to update – I had all my website pages on my computer and each time I wanted to do an update, I edited these files and then FTP’ed them to my site – prevented me from updating much. With WP, all your pages can be edited online on any computer that can access internet. I just need to log into my dashboard and then click on the edit link on each of my pages (only viewable for me).
So the easy updating would be the biggest perk for me.
Other positives are the plugins and the easy way you can change the look of your site through billions of free themes.
I’ve been using WP for a few months now, and I have really found a negative that I couldn’t solve or avoid
